work cooperatively through the PTA's, the Chamber of Commerce Partners in

Rich in history and tradition, the
University of Arkansas is the state's flagship institution, leading the way as
the professional education center and serving as a driving force for the
state's economic growth. The University is Arkansas' most comprehensive
educational institution, offering over 200 programs of study in the arts;
sciences; humanities; agricultural, food and life sciences; architecture;
business; education; engineering, environmental sciences; health professions;
and law. We are categorized as a mid-sized university with an enrollment of
about 15,000 students - of which approximately 2,600 are freshmen. About
73% of our classes have 29 or fewer students. Our student to faculty ratio is
16 to 1. Our students come from every state and almost 100 foreign nations.

The top 500 students in the freshman class are ranked in the 98th percentile
nationally in terms of ACT scores and high school GPA's.
The U of A is rich in heritage and
tradition. The towers of Old Main, the oldest and most recognizable building on
campus, have become an icon of educational excellence. The Razorback, the
mascot of NCAA SEC athletics at the U of A, has evolved into a symbol of
athletic prowess.
